Weekly Challenge #2: Buy Nothing

It’s simple: for one week, don’t buy anything except food or gas.

Commit this week to being satisfied with everything you have. Make do. Be resourceful. Get creative.

This week’s challenge isn’t about minimalism, but gratitude. When you stop accumulating new stuff, your focus shifts to what you already have. Chances are, you have more than enough.

I was just thinking about this over the weekend. I rarely buy things during the week (even food, except for weekly shopping), but there always seems to be something that we need over the weekend. I’m working on making that the exception rather than the rule.

On the plus side, even though I did buy something this weekend, it was a Father’s Day gift for Mitch. Does that count as gratitude? ;)

  2. Oh Britt I love this! It’s so smart and true. I’m a shopaholic. The Boden pop-ups follow me everywhere I go. I’m thrilled the Anthropologie items my husband got me for our anniversary don’t fit so I get to go back and shop guilt free. But man do I need to stop shopping. I have nowhere to wear all the clothes I own. 57 dresses at last count, and I’m not even a Kardashian. I am going to take your advice for one week and the reminder this is about Gratitude will help xo
