Happiness Highlights: Bracing for the Insanity

Monday, July 23rd, 2012

Every Monday, I start my week by highlighting what made me happy from the previous week and invite you to do the same, because gratitude is the first step to being happy.

This week, my happiness came from:

  • Getting approved for a home we love in Pittsburgh.
  • Seeing my family after being away from them for a week.
  • Spending four hours in the car with Jared – I love when we get time to talk like this.
  • Dropping my husband off at the South Dakota/Iowa border so that he can ride across the state on the RAGBRAI bike ride – I am crazy proud of him and super impressed.
  • Going shopping with my mom.
  • Having Emma crawl into bed beside me.

This coming week is going to be insane for me. I have to work, will be in Washington DC for an event with Nintendo Thursday and Friday, pick Jared up on Saturday, and then leave for Costa Rica on Sunday. In other words, things may be quiet around the Facebook page and possibly the blog. Also, I’m not doing a giveaway this week – but will hopefully be back with more fun prizes in August.

Of course, that’s no reason for you not to share your happiness highlights.

What made you happy this week?

My mama did Ragbrai. So awesome that Jared is doing it!!

Happiness this week is getting the heck outta dodge and finally getting on the side of the time zones that we are most used to … time to see the Husb!

  3. Happy this week…last week was rough but ended with the first baby shower for our daughter. It was fun to see everyone and share in the joy of the upcoming birth of our first grandchild, a girl. That was the best for sure! It will be here very, very soon! That is HAPPY!

I remember hearing a lot abot RAGBRAI when I was growing up. It sounds awesome!

My happiness highlights were spending three days at a vacation home on a lake with 24 family members. Not necessarily relaxing, but tons of fun.

    Enjoy DC and Costa Rica!

I think last week’s highlight was settling 2 pretty big cases. Not that exciting, but helpful in our battle against mold/mildew at home, at least!

  7. Little Miss Sunshine State says:

My aunt passed away. She has no children but she always called my siblings and I her “babies”. The four of us sat with her for two days as she suffered. I am so proud of my sister, my brothers and my sister-in-law. I am so grateful that we can lean on each other in bad times.

  8. Lisa says:

I found a dress for a wedding I’m attending on Saturday, and it’s a normal size (not plus) and its cute, and I’m a little freaked out about how short it is. I went into Macy’s and told them my situation and that I didn’t even know what size I am and what’s appropriate and they were so nice. It’s a very weird experience, but a good feeling nonetheless.

  9. Marta says:

Everything in your upcoming to dos sounds amazing. I would be grateful for just all those opportunities!

What made me happy last week? Booking my flight to San Diego. Its work related but I’m taking on a few extra days with a friend I never see to drive up to Disneyland!

  10. We all have our definition of happiness. Make your own and expel all the negative vibes in your body. With this, you can be more fulfilling.
