Happiness According to Charlie Brown

We spend so much time trying to figure out what happiness is, but maybe we’re working too hard.

Happiness is morning and evening,
Daytime and nighttime too.
For happiness is anyone and anything at all
That’s loved by you.

Perhaps are efforts would be better spent simply noticing what we love and then doing, be, and having more of that.

Well said Britt! I also think that Linus has some brilliant advice in "A Charlie Brown Christmas" when, amid the obsession with crass commercialism, he shuffles across the stage at the Christmas pageant and reminds everyone of the true meaning of Christmas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pn10FF-FQfs

  2. my aunt sue isn't doing so well. well that was a huge understatement. she probably won't see 2012, which is such a short time away. my heart hurts so much, and yet a big part of me is happy at the same time…for the wag of louie's tail this morning, for cool rain instead of snow on my way to work, for a coworker's cat greeting me in my office, for the sight of our ghetto christmas tree, for a kind email, for a friend coming to town tonight and our sushi date tomorrow, for lots of things. sometimes i actually feel bad for feeling happy, but i literally cannot control my happy. how fucked up is that?

  3. Nanna says:

Ah Becky baby, your happy is a light unto the world. And I really mean it.

  4. Megan says:

I think the lesson here is to try to live in the moment more, to be more present and to pay attention to now. And that it's not the big things that bring lasting happiness, but the dozens of small moments in a day.

  5. the muskrat says:

We used to sing this in Ms. Wilson's music class in 5th grade. It's awesome. Maybe this'll be my BlogHer karaoke number in 2012.

  6. Lisa says:

Becky, your happiness should never be suppressed. It's a gift to everyone who knows you.I've been having a little happiness guilt myself lately because of dad-related stuff, but I'm just not going let it get me down. We had a big, really big, dose of good news (unrelated to dad stuff) the other day and there isn't any getting me down right now.

  7. Carrie says:

THAT is perfect.I think I'm gonna print that out and stick it right here on my wall at the office.More often than not, I need that little reminder. Here, especially.

  8. Amanda says:

I love this! I had a huge, goofy grin on my face the entire time I was watching the video! Thank you for sharing!
