Yesterday he was ten.
Today he is eleven.
Yesterday I was a scared 19 year old kid and today I am a mother of two who is still pretty scared of messing them up, but no longer afraid of being his everything. In fact, I wish I could hold on to those moments a little bit longer.
Three years ago, we recorded the story of the day he was born. It’s one of the few things that hasn’t changed completely since then.
That, and my unconditional, bigger-than-life love for him.
Happy Birthday, Devin. I am so, so proud to be your mom.

Happy birthday, Devin Eleven!
I will be 75 next month and I can’t tell you how fast the years go by. Our sons are in their 40′s and our only grandson if now 15. Hang on to your memories and treat your kids and your life as if today is the last day. Life is good. Enjoy! I love your blog.
