Friends

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

This morning I will take one friend to the airport and another friend will pack up his bags and drive home.

Over the last three days, she has played nursemaid to me while I cried through a fever. He has discussed electrical engineering with my 8 year old. They have loved on my kids, and me. We have sat up and talked about nothing and everything. Without parties or amusement parks or fancy dinners or lanyards or SWAG or speakers. Without plans or schedules.

This morning, I am not saying good by to Blogger Buddies, or looking forward to another Blogger Meet Up next weekend in New York City.

This morning, I am hugging my Friends, and looking forward to seeing them again.

  1. That’s awesome, hon. I’m so glad you all had a great time! That’s what the greatest of friends are for.

  2. Sybil Law says:

Oh, those are the best times with friends!
Sounds like you’re feeling better, too! Yay!

  3. Selma says:

Awww, that’s really nice. Glad you all enjoyed each other’s company.

  4. Shelli says:

Friends are awesome. Especially those two and you. I wish I could be there next weekend.

  5. Hilly says:

Yay for laid back weekends with friends!

  6. Turnbaby says:

And that’s what it’s all about sugar

  7. Lisa says:

REAL friends are the best. I know how much I loved hanging out on the beach with you watching the kids and just talking about nothing and everything.

I think SAND was the SWAG that day ;)

    Hope you are feeling better.

  8. Lisa says:

P.S. I still have Florida sand STUCK in my sunglasses….

  9. Coast Rat says:

There’s nothing like good friends, to help soothe the body and soul.

  10. Karl says:

Loved hanging out with you and the fam and Becky. We didn’t HAVE to do anything to have a great time. I cannot WAIT to split the million dollars with Devin on that plastic recharable bendable lamp.

  11. metalmom says:

    Sounds like the best weekend!

  12. Winter says:

It is nice to just hang out and do regular stuff, isn’t it? And for what it’s worth, I think “nice” is a very underrated word. It implies a sense of comfort that other words just don’t have. Friends. Comfort. Nice. It all goes together.

  13. Manager Mom says:

very cool… I never expected, when I got into the whole blogging thing, that I would make so many good friends online that transferred to real life…

  14. DutchBitch says:

I am so happy for you that you had such a good time!

I SO much hope that someday I can scrape some money together and come visit allaya.. well, maybe not allay but alottaya!

  15. Mindy says:

Yep… Those are true friends. :cheese:

  16. Stephanie says:

True friends nurse you back to help and watch your kids for you…so that you can heal and prepare for NYC!

  17. I hope that you feel better. Being sick sucks!

  18. there is no way to tell you how much i enjoyed not rushing around, just hanging out with you, your family, adam and karl. it was a perfectly relaxing weekend…just what we need before the insanity that will be new york city this coming friday.

p.s. driving your awesome red convertible mustang TOTALLY didn’t suck. wii!

  19. ginamonster says:

Becky is way cool like that. I knew, with every margarita I consumed that she would have totally held my hair if I puked. Thankfully, she didn’t need to. :martini:
