The RAP Sheet: Will You Be Next?

Blogging was made for bitching.

Whether it’s about slow drivers, unruly children, or spouses who can’t seem to pick up their own underwear, the blogosphere is constantly atwitter with our gripes. And while we would in no way suggest you stop bitching, once in a while it’s nice to stop and remember some of those people who makes us forget about the dirty underwear.

It is because of those people that Karen, Hilly and I decided to launch The RAP Sheet.

Out here in Blogaritaville, there are some Ridiculously Awesome People. People who touch us, who make us laugh, who make us want to reward them with a cutesy graphic. Those are the people we add to The RAP Sheet.

(read through to the end where I’ll tell you how you can play along!)

The first person I’d like to add to The RAP Sheet is… (crap! this is hard! there are so freaking many!)

Crystal. The fabulously awesome Crystal of Midnight Therapy and In Accord With The Surrealists.

It’s fitting that she would be my inaugural member of The Rap Sheet, because one of the things that makes Crystal so awesome is her desire that YOU know how awesome you are.

Yes, even you.

It’s like… her mission.

(It is also her mission to commune with St. Francis, but whatever.)

Behind her hilarious videos and flippant commentary on everything from pop music to her life as a MILF, there is this extraordinarily deep person. She’s shockingly kind and purposely loving. She selflessly shared so much of herself with me when I was quite obviously spiraling into a dark pit in front of you all.

Crystal is, without a doubt, one of those people you are better for having known. In an Internet that can be dark and nasty, she is a bright light of hotness and generosity.

In short, I want to be Crystal when I grow up.

And so should you.

I Made The RAP Sheet

Crystal is joined this month by…

Pink Bunny Foo Foo, added by Hilly.
Sam at Temporarily Me, added by Karen.

What about YOU? Do you know some Ridiculously Awesome People that the Internet should know about? Do you just want to be part of spreading around a little Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy – even if it will take you the rest of the month to think of someone? Contribute to next month’s Rap Sheet!

Email us at and we’ll send you everything you need to play along next month. (Including a pretty little graphic. Because whose blog couldn’t use more cool blinky graphics?)

I like that graphic! And it’s good that you didn’t call it the Cool and Ridiculously Awesome People sheet.

  2. Mr. Fabulous says:

Very cool award, graphic and idea. And an excellent choice. Not only does Crystal make me laugh AND think, but I frequently beat off to her videos. :heartbeat:

  3. Hilly says:

Hooray for Crystal! I just finally added her to my feed reader :).

I love Crystal so much it hurts, and I love the Accordance blog. She inspires me to be a much better person than I ever thought I could be.

Hooray!! What a worthy recipient. I first found Crystal on…oh, whatever that snarky review blog was. I can’t think of the name of it. And while I don’t read/watch her as regularly as I would like, I’m always, ALWAYS glad when I do!

  10. AmyD says:

    Very cool!

  11. Stephanie says:

Great idea..good choice! (Graphic is cool, too!)

  12. Sarcastica says:

This is SUCH an amazing awesome idea! There are so many really good bloggers out there who don’t get as much recognition as they should! I am definitely jumping on the band wagon and sending an email with the people who I think are deserving of a RAP “award” lol.

  13. DutchBitch says:

Wow! Guh-reat idea! So many names to think of!

As soon as I am done FTP-ing and SQL-ing, I’ll think of a name for sure!

  14. Mom says:

What a great idea, babe! I went off and read Crystal’s blog(s), obviously “In Accord” struck a chord or seven with me. Will have to read the other recipients’ as well.

How lovely of the three of you to do this!!

  15. Miss Britt says:

avitable: it was a front runner, but ultimately we decided against that crap.

Mr. Fab: putting on my pretending to be surprised face…

Hilly: she is feed reader worthy fo sho!

Poppy: she does that for me too.

Finn: you can never have too many of those!

    Geeky Tai-Tai: indeed, indeed.

themuttprincess: Karen’s kind of a genius I think.

    hellohahanarf: you will LOVE Crystal.

wafelenbak: that’s OK, she doesn’t post as often as we’d like either.

    Jay: LOL, yep!

    AmyD: thank you.

Stephanie: Karen did the graphic. I mean, OF COURSE Hilly and I offered invaluable advice…

    Sarcastica: Ooh do join in!

    DutchBitch: sweet! :-)

  16. Great. Another fucking party for the cool kids. [sigh] Well, I’ll just do what I usually do: loiter around outside and hit on the barely conscious drunk girls stumbling out at the end of the night.

  17. jflins says:

Is this the kind of deal where staff are excluded? I love Crystal, too; very entertaining, but Hilly is #1 to me :heartbeat: :heartbeat: :heartbeat: She has a tremendous heart, love and compassion for like everyone, and is as real as she can be on her blog, too.

  18. Laura says:

I’m all about the Crystal Lovin!!!
